You are invited! Murrah High School welcomes you and your team to its campus in Jackson, Mississippi, for a weekend of Speech & Debate competition on October 23-24, 2026.

For the most part, this will be a “regular” MHSAA Invitational tournament, with most of the usual events and typical schedule. As such, our tournament is a qualifier to the MHSAA State Tournament to be held April 30-May 1, 2027.

Coaches - if you attended our tournament last year or are generally used to MHSAA invitationals, there are just two unique or uncommon things you probably need to know:

1.We will not offer the supplemental events of Expository and Storytelling

2. We will offer middle school events, specifically Public Forum, Impromptu, and a catch-all Middle-School Interp event that will encompass Prose/Poetry/HI/DI/Declamation. More info on middle school events in the invitation.

If you are a new coach or usually compete in another circuit, it’s a good idea to read through ALL of the invitation.
