Granite Coaches,

I hope this message finds you well. We are pleased to invite your team to participate in the upcoming Granite Novice Debate Tournament Friday Oct. 2 at Kearns High School to kick off the season. School fee of $25 per school to cover Tabroom expenses (Payable to Cyprus Debate), however no entry fees will be charged. The goal is to have a small, low-pressure tournament for all our new students to ease their way into the season and avoid the usual stress of finding judges by putting our varsity kids to work. Concessions will not be offered, feel free to bring your own snack and drinks.

Topics:

LD - Resolved: Outer space colonization is a moral imperative.

PF - Resolved: The United States federal government should enact a moratorium on hyperscale data center construction.

Policy - Resolved: The United States federal government should establish national health insurance in the United States. Novice can only use the novice packet, which in Utah DOES NOT include the Kritik. Overview of the novice packet sent out by Mike Shackleford attached.

Congress – The docket comes from the recently released UDCA Legislation and is on Tabroom.

Speech:

Impromptu, Extemp. Oratory, Informative, Mixed Interp (HI, DI, POI, DUO)

Schedule:

Check-in and Judges meeting at 2:30 in Room 210. Students should go to the Cafeteria.
