Yellow Rose District Qualifier

for the 2026 National Tournament

The Yellow Rose District Meet of the National Speech and Debate Association will take place at the following:

February 12-14 at College Station High School, 4002 Victoria Ave, College Station, TX 77845

(Congressional Debate will take place Feb. 13 at Victory Church, 13107 State Highway 30, in College Station

Basic schedule: Feb. 12 at College Station High, we will begin with debate and extemp in the late afternoon (4 p.m. ish)

Feb. 13 during the morning and afternoon, Congressional Debate at Victory Church

Feb. 13 late afternoon at College Station High School, all speech and debate events

Feb. 14 all speech and debate events at College Station High School

February 17-18: Big Questions Debate online in the afternoon/evening.

All IE’s will have three preliminary rounds. The top six or 25 percent of the entries–including ties–will advance to elimination rounds. If there are seven or fewer entries, qualifiers will be determined by the three preliminary rounds. If six or seven entries qualify for eliminations, then the next round will be finals. If more than seven qualify for eliminations, we will have a semifinal round.

All Debate events–including Big Questions Debate–will have four rounds. All debaters/debate teams with a 3-1 or 4-0 record will advance to single-elimination outrounds.

For Oratories, Informatives, and interp events, you must have a script available at the district meet in the event of a protest. You do not need to turn these in prior to the meet.

PAYMENT should be made to "Yellow Rose of the NSDA" care of Chris Mosmeyer, 6608 West Adams Avenue, Temple, Texas 76502. You can mail the check in advance or bring it on Feb. 12.
