Welcome to the Leatherstocking Forensics League Annual Winter Break Tournament.

All rounds must be completed by 5 pm on Sunday, January 4th. If finals are needed, we will run them between 8 am and 10 pm on Monday, January 5th.

A NOTE ON POETRY & PROSE: For NSDA competition, this is a 5-minute event, while for NCFL and NYSFL, it is a 10-minute event. Due to the nature of async competition, please judge based on the quality of the performance, AND REFRAIN from critiquing the shorter pieces solely for their length.

JUDGING SPEECH ROUNDS USE OF POINTS:

  • Please enter points for each speaker, from 70 to 100. Your top speaker should receive the highest number of points. There are no ties. Think of it similarly to a college grading scale:

    • 98-100% A+

    • 93-97 A

    • 90-92% A-

    • 88-89% B+

    • 83-87% B

    • 80-82% B-

    • 78-79% C+

    • 73-77% C

    • 70-72% C-

  • Please write a minimum of 30 words of feedback on ballots. You will be asked to add more feedback if there are not at least 30 words per ballot.

  • In your feedback, please try to give competitors positive feedback AND constructive criticism regarding things they should work on.
