The Grizzly Growl NIETOC

2026 — Meridian, ID/US

Tournament Notes

Hello everyone!

RMHS is excited to welcome you to the 2026 Grizzly Growl.

SCHEDULE:

We plan to hold 3 prelims and finals for speech on Friday, and 4 Prelims with Semi's and Finals for PF/LD on Saturday. As of right now, we do not have enough entries to justify World Schools, but if that changes so will the schedule.

Draw will start at 3:15 on Friday with Round 1 beginning at 3:30. Rounds on Saturday will begin at 8:00 AM.

If entry numbers remain low for all events, finals rounds may be cut.

BUSSING:

Please make sure that when you arrive you do not send students into the main part of the building until after the bell has rung at 2:39. Students may be dropped off in the North Parking lot to enter the cafeteria until then. Coaches and Judges will need to go to the library to register.

CONGRESS:

Because we are hosting the Congress portion of NSDA Qualifiers, any wishing to compete in congress must register in the IGOTM Congress tournament on Tab, and make sure they adhere to NSDA entry rules. For all intents and purposes, Congress is a separate tournament just borrowing Rocky's rooms.

TOPICS:

We will be using the February Topics for PF and LD. The docket for Congress will be posted on the IGOTM Registration page.

FOOD:

We will offer coaches and judges Dinner on Friday, as well as Breakfast and Lunch on Saturday. There are plenty of options within walking distance for students to find food each day, but we will not have concessions.

PANEL TOPICS:

These are not in round order, but each topic will be used once.

  1. How can we better support our new students from foreign countries?
  2. Is organized religion beneficial to society?
  3. Are social media platforms such as Tik Tok and Instagram contributing to unrealistic expectations of attainable success?
  4. How can we best prepare current and future students for AI?
