Hello!

We’re excited to host a Novice Night for the Des Moines metro onTuesday, October 21st at Roosevelt High School from 5:00 - 8:00 pm (extemp draw @ 5, R1 starts @ 5:30). Free entry and varsity team members are strongly encouraged to judge.

We’re offering two rounds of both speech & debate, as well as one round of congress. During extemp draw, all student-judges will get a brief intro to constructive judging.

Pizza dinner will be provided free of charge.

Above all, we love Iowa speech and debate and want as many kids as possible to get a chance to show what they can do. See you soon!

Schedule:

4:30 - 5:00 pm: Check in

5:00 pm: R1 Extemp draw + Student Judge presentation in cafeteria

5:30 pm: Round 1 (All events)

6:30 pm: R2 Extemp draw

7:00 pm: Round 2 (All events except Congress)

7:45 pm: Hard stop on Congress session(s)

8:00 pm: Clean up & leave
