The Coppell Classic

October 10-12, 2025

Dear Colleagues and Competitors,

The Coppell Speech and Debate Program cordially invites you to the Coppell Classic, our 25th annual TFA, NIETOC, and now TOC qualifying tournament, October 10-12, 2025. In addition to our main tournament, we will also offer a swing portion of the tournament hosted by Coppell 9thasynchronouslyproviding the option to compete in IEs in two tournaments the same weekend.

This year we have the privilege of being a bid tournament for World Schools Debate (Finals) and Speech. We look forward to hosting both new and familiar faces and are excited about this addition to the tournament. This has resulted in schedule changes, moving from a two-day debate tournament to a three-day debate tournament and from a one-day speech tournament to a two-day speech tournament. We expect this to allow for a high-quality and well-paced event as a result.

The tournament offers varsity competition in CX, LD, WSD, PF, Congress, and Individual Events. We will also provide novice CX, novice LD, and novice Extemp. Debate will feature 5 preliminary rounds. The tournament will be offered in-person, and we are eager to welcome you to our campus.

We are pleased to honor the life and career of Mrs. Glenda Ferguson. Mrs. Ferguson was a powerful force in the speech and debate community, and she served the Coppell Speech & Debate program for more than a decade. We offer a special Grand Sweepstakes Award she would truly be proud of.

We are thankful to those who have supported the growth of this tournament over the years. We promise efficient & accurate tabulation, qualified judging, top-notch customer service, and excellent hospitality.
