We are hosting a series of after-school weeknight tournaments on LFS's campus in Lawrence. I assume its almost exclusively LFS competing against itself for practice debates. But others are welcome to join. If others join, welcome to compete in our division of Novice "super exciting special Phops Debate" which has interestingly different speech times, but happens to use the NFHS topic. Or join us starting in Rd 2, and all non-LFS entries get a bye in R1. Or we schedule all schools to debate themselves in Rd 1 in a practice debate. Whatever floats your boat!

4 rounds. We get out of school at 1:10p on Wednesdays. Times:

LFS/LHS will host four of these events, and all schools are welcome to attend all of them.

Speech time modifications
1AC is 8 mins, all other speeches, inclusive of CX, are 1 min shorter. Prep is 5 mins per team. Will have to hustle to each round.

Fees: $1 per entry. I have zero interest in tracking you down for payment. Sweet if you pay. No sweat if you don't.

Judges: Bring them. 1 per two teams. All HS debaters 2nd year+ welcome. All HS Jr/Sr AP/College Credit Class type person welcome. I offer my college public speaking kids extra credit to come judge. Must make Tabroom accounts.

Awards - some ducks, maybe some medals, maybe not.

I cannot express how low-key of an event this is, I intend that this is solely for LFS kids to have practice debates, but I'm just happy to welcome others if they wish to join us. There will likely be odd-sized panels etc. My goal is to make every HS student judge present have a ballot and let some kids have fun.

If you want me to create a separate division for just your kids so it doesn't burn a tournament, and its just practice rounds. Just ask. Happy to facilitate that. We will likely do that for some of the later tournaments for ourselves.
