Events Offered

The Bulldog Invitational will host the following events:

Lincoln-Douglas Debate

Novice and Varsity divisions of Lincoln-Douglas debate will be offered, all NSDA rules and time limits will be followed. Novice and Varsity Lincoln-Douglas debate will have five (5) rounds of debate followed by outrounds, as needed.

Lincoln-Douglas debate will use the November/December LD topic.

Policy Debate

Novice and Varsity divisions of Policy debate will be offered, all NSDA rules and time limits will be followed. Policy Debate will have four (4) rounds of debate followed by outrounds, as needed.

Public Forum Debate

Novice and Varsity divisions of Public Forum debate will be offered, all NSDA rules and time limits will be followed. Novice and Varsity Public Forum debate will have five (5) rounds of debate followed by outrounds, as needed.

Public Forum debate will use the November/December PF topic.

Eight (8) events will be offered this year:

Program Oral Interpretation

All NSDA rules and time limits will be followed. Students may single or double enter in any of the IE events; each entry will be charged as a separate entry. (Standard double-entry rules - students can compete in 2 different events max, not 2 of the same.) There will be three (3) rounds before breaking to out rounds, as needed. The number of rounds will be adjusted if we need to, in order to abide by Tournament of Champion qualification guidelines. The base requirements are as follows:

Tournament of Champions (University of Kentucky) Entry Criteria
Champion (1 Bid) - Minimum 8 Entries / 3 Schools / 3 Prelims AND Finals
Top 3 (Up to 3 Bids) - Minimum 16 Entries / 4 Schools / 3 Prelims AND Finals
Finals (Up to 6 Bids) - Minimum 30 Entries / 5 Schools / 3 Prelims AND Semifinals + Finals
Semifinals (Up to 12 Bids) - Minimum 60 Entries / 10 Schools / 4 Prelims AND Quarterfinals Onward
Quarterfinals (Up to 24 Bids) - Minimum of 120 Entries / 10 Schools / 4 Prelims AND Octofinals Onward

NOTE: Speech events are offered Saturday only.

Student Congress

All NSDA rules and time limits will apply to Student Congress. Presiding Officers will not be eligible for speaking awards, although they will receive a gavel for presiding. One Presiding Officer per preliminary session and one for the Super Session. Each school may submit a maximum of three (3) pieces of legislation. Bettendorf also strongly suggests that each school submits a minimum of one piece of legislation. All legislation needs to be received by Monday, November 3rd, 2025. These bills/resolutions should be uploaded on Tabroom. Legislative packets will then be posted on Tabroom by Wednesday, November 5th, 2025. The docket will be set at that point and sent out to schools. NOTE: Congress will be both Friday and Saturday this year. There will be 2 preliminary sessions, followed by a Super Session.
