Judges

JUDGE REQUIREMENT

Schools provide 1 judge for every 5 entries, or fraction thereof. Schools that are short pay an uncovered judge fee of $20 per uncovered entry, so we can hire a judge in your place.

---------------------------------------------

WHAT JUDGES DO

- Judges must be 18 or older. Approved student judges may judge novice prelim rounds only.

- Every judge needs an active Tabroom account linked to their judge entry.

- Ballots appear on the judge's Tabroom home page during each window: prelims Tuesday to Thursday, and possibly elims Friday to Sunday.

- Judges watch each video in full, rank every competitor, and write at least 40 words of feedback for each one.

- All judges follow our Judge Code of Conduct.

WANT TO BE A HIRED JUDGE?

We pay judges to cover rounds for schools that are short. Fill out our Judge Sign-Up form, and we'll email you when we need judges, with the dates and pay. Hired judges must be 18 or older and will be asked for a W-9 before being paid.
