for the 2026 National Tournament
World Schools Debate
Students interested in applying for the Worlds Debate team should fill out this application:

Applicants will be judged on their analysis, use of support devices, speaking style, and overall presentation.
Students will prepare either Prop 2 or Opp 2 on the following motion: This House regrets the Pink Tide in Latin America.
The deadline for submissions is Sunday, March 8th at 11:59:59 pm.

Topic: This House regrets the Pink Tide in Latin America.
Info Slide: The pink tide is a political wave and turn towards left-wing governments in Latin America throughout the 21st century. Such governments have been referred to as "left-of-centre", "left-leaning", and "radical social-democratic".

Guidelines for video submissions:
1. Students MUST submit via Google Drive.
Please make sure your "General access" is set to "Anyone with the link"
2. Videos should refrain from any mention or indication of the applicant's name or school.
This includes but is not limited to stating your name, wearing a school shirt, etc.
3. File MUST be titled one of the two following ways depending on the side the student chooses:

World School Debate should be listed on the individual preference sheet to indicate whether a competitor prefers a national qualification in an individual or team event or whether they prefer a spot on the World School team. To offset costs, $50/student that makes the team will be deducted from the $250 Judge Bond for the school that they represent. We will be allowed to send two teams to the national tournament.
Qualifiers will be announced at the Congress/BQ Meet on Thursday, April 2, 2026.
